If you suffer from sticker shock every time you open up your auto insurance bill, then it's time to consider ways that may help reduce the cost. Quite simply, being a good driver is one way to pay less for insurance. Insurance companies generally look at the past three years of your driving history. A minor traffic infraction can potentially impact your rates. The type of car you drive also plays a role. If you're shopping for a new car, call your insurance agent and get an estimate of what your premium might be. If the car has a low risk of theft and has the latest safety gear, you may get a break. Other ways to save: most companies offer multi-policy discounts if you have the same company carry more than one of your insurance policies; students may be eligible for "good student" discounts; and you can raise the deductible, which is your out-of-pocket expense on a claim.

Have you ever noticed just how erratic weather conditions can be nowadays? Storms happen when there should be dry weather while rainy seasons usually end up in floods and mass destruction. Because of this changing weather patterns, a lot of people are caught unaware ending up with them having to deal with damaged properties and loss of lives.

One such property that tends to get affected a lot by storms and the consequent floods is the car. Because of the rise in the number of flood-damaged cars, a number of unscrupulous individuals have taken it upon themselves to prey on unsuspecting consumers on the look out for second-hand cars and sell these damaged cars.

One of ways by which you can avoid getting these lemon cars is to check your vehicle’s history report. Since, oftentimes, sellers would move this car around a lot in an effort to hide the vehicle’s history, you can start your check with VINCheck, Carfax or Autocheck. They can provide you with details such as whether a car has bee damaged by flood, was stolen, or has been given a salvaged title.

It is also recommended that you have your car checked by your Atlanta auto repair service center. A musty odor as well as discolored carpet and seat coverings is indicative of water damage. Check also if the undercarriage has flaking metals or if there is suspicious dirt build-up in unusual places.

A number of centers providing auto repair in Atlanta would also tell you that dysfunctional wipers, cigarette lighters, radio, and air conditioner can be indicative of a water-logged system. This can also be the case if you are having a hard time making the warning light as well as the gauges work.

All is not lost, however. A number of auto repair Atlanta GA centers have mechanics that specialize in the repair and maintenance of cars that have suffered flood damage. It is recommended, however, that you check first if repairs and maintenance would cost you less than just selling it and buying a new one. Once you are sure that having it repaired is the way to go, then you can let the mechanic do his job.

There is no doubt about it that being turned down for auto financing because of slow credit, can be one of the most disheartening experiences that anyone goes through. There is an emotional charge to it. There is just no feeling like it and it's almost like a breakup.

>>> Get approved for a car loan with slow credit.

It can be a tremendous relief to learn that there are approvals given by companies that are in the business of working with people that are facing your situation. Online lenders can provide you with opportunities that are not available in your town and there are several for people that have slow credit.

One thing that makes things a lot easier for folks is submitting an application for car credit, before they start test driving vehicles and choosing between makes and models. By having a preapproval letter in hand, you have your priorities in check.

Here's a few tips.

After and only after you've negotiated on the price of the vehicle, ask the dealer to include an additional warranty on the vehicle at no extra cost. If they will not do this then rest assured that you can get a low-cost extended warranty directly from the warranty company.

This is just one example of what you can do to save money. Another great thing that can benefit you is getting a pre-approval for your auto loan, before you set out to pick out a vehicle. Not only does it save you the heartache of being declined for a car that you've set your heart on, you'll be in a better position to negotiate price on a vehicle that you can actually buy.

http://www.BuyingCarswithBadCredit.com can help you with legitimate auto lending. If you have bad credit, there are sources that are willing to help you to overcome the challenges that you are facing, while helping you to rebuild your credit with a good auto loan.

Tired of frequently consulting your auto mechanic regarding car troubles that arise in the most inopportune time? It's about time you should empower yourself and not be on the mercy of your auto mechanic forever. The internet has a vast array of information on car repairs. Among those that will give you the most benefits are Youtube car repairs.

The Benefits Of Youtube

Youtube is a popular site that features videos, and it's being utilized by different vehicle owners and even mechanics to share their knowledge and skills. The repair processes that you will find here are beneficial in many ways:

• They are clearly and visually demonstrated. Unlike manuals, you get photos and sound with videos, so the procedures are easy to follow.

• You can take full control of your learning pace. It's just like having a teacher in front of you. But, whereas you don't have any control on the teacher in school, you have full control of the videos you see on the site. You're free to replay the lesson many times and you can refer back to it just in case you want to review some important pointers.

• There are great videos to choose from. If you doubt one video you see, you can find a second opinion on a particular car problem by watching another Youtube presentation discussing the same trouble.

• Of course, it's free and you don't have to go to your local mechanic to learn! What a saving in time and cost!

Just like any other machine, a car is exposed to a lot of elements such as the weather and the road condition. All these are beyond your control, and problems can occur anytime. But with the internet now available, it's easy to find solutions to your car problems.

What You Will Find In Youtube

Aside from car repairs, there are other things that you can find in Youtube. Among these are:

• Car Maintenance. You will find videos that feature the regular maintenance procedures that your car needs—oil change, inspection of parts like the brakes and lights, and many others.

• Troubleshooting techniques. There are also videos that will help you diagnose
troubles by presenting the different symptoms of the problem. This way, it will be easier to identify and assess what you need to do.

• Replacement (Removal and Installation). From auto lights to car stereo and wheels, there are a lot of replacement procedures featured in Youtube. This will help you save on labor cost because you'll be able to do the task on your own.

With Youtube videos, dealing with your car problems will be easier. Just follow the procedures by heart and you can certainly become a car maintenance expert in no time. With constant practice and with the right attitude, you will soon be emancipated from having to pay someone to handle car maintenance and repair. The different Youtube videos are definitely a wealth of knowledge.

Be proactive, be on top of the situation, watch Youtube car repairs, apply what you learn, and soon, your visit to your auto mechanic will be far in between.

oss of Use Term in Auto Insurance?

One of the things that the consumers may not really contemplate, but do expect, is that their auto insurance will cover the cost of a replacement car when their automobile is being replaced. Many auto insurance policies actually do not provide for this automatically. If you are at all dependent upon your car, it is vital that you make sure that this type of coverage is included. Rental cars are not cheap!

How do you tell if you have this kind of auto insurance coverage for automobile or RV? First, you need to look at your car insurance policy. The language you are looking for refers to something called "loss of use." What is loss of use coverage? As the name suggests, loss of use coverage refers to the expenses for transportation while your automobile is in being repaired or replaced. In more practical terms, this simply means that you have coverage for a rental car. Indeed, many people including those in the auto insurance business refer to this clause of the car rental coverage clause.

Buying loss of use auto insurance

Buying loss of use auto insurance with the car policy is definitely something you want to do. The idea of buying more car insurance coverages and auto insurance quotes probably is one of the least favorite things for most people. That being said, going for days without your car is far worse. Most of us drive to work and home. Most of us need our cars just to get around to find basic things like food. You really don't realize how dependent you are on a car until you don't have it. If you don't believe me, try a simple little test. Lend your car to a friend one morning and tell them not to bring it back till the end of the day. I guarantee that you'll be going batty by noon!

Loss of use automobile insurance is simply worth its weight in gold. It may not seem like it now, but it will when you suddenly need to get around and your car is in the shop. Paying for a turist car for tour or turizm with your own money for more than a few days is an extremely expensive proposition. Paying 10 to 20 bucks a year extra on your car insurance to get loss of use coverage is definitely a better deal. Do it!

About the Author:

Many people like the idea of driving a pure electric car. It is clean, cheap to run and does not create any noise pollution. With the rising global crude oil prices, electric vehicle (EV) is getting more desirable by many car owners.

Unfortunately, a brand new EV from the car dealership is still very expensive. Be prepared to invest upwards of $40,000 for a plug-in EV. Most people would not be able to afford that. The best alternative is to convert a conventional automobile into an EV.

One of the most popular cars used for EV retrofitting is the Volkswagen Beetle. VW Beetle electric conversion is relatively easy compared to other model in the market. This is because there are many readymade Beetle Bug electric car conversion kits.

Why use a VW Beetle as an electric car conversion donor car? The main reason is the cost. You can find an old VW almost anywhere. Even a damaged Bug is fine; the electric conversion will be taking out the internal combustion engine anyway.

Due to its popularity, many workshops have designed and made the conversion kit available for any DIY electric car enthusiast. All they have to do is order the kit, get it sent to their home and they can begin retrofitting their VW Beetle.

However, even with the electric conversion kit, not everyone can do the project. You must have some basic understanding on how an automobile works.

You also must have the necessary tools and equipment for the conversion. Without those, it would be a better idea just to outsource the Beetle electric conversion to a professional mechanic.

Winter is nearly upon us, is your car ready for the change of weather? According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), there are over 6,400,000 vehicle crashes each year and 24 percent of these crashes are weather-related. What kind of weather is the most dangerous? Believe it or not, statistically it is the rain. Because water reduces vehicle traction, maneuverability, as well as visibility - these three in combination can cause problems in rain and almost any kind of bad weather.

What are some things you can do to prepare your car for the highest degree of safety before inclement weather sets in? Here are a handful of items that you can add to your auto service checklist:

• Windshield Wiper Blades - Are your blades working properly. If you rarely use your blades during the summer and live in places where the sun can dry them out, it is most likely that the rubber will harden and the blades will not work as well when you need them. If you live in an area where you expect heavy snow during the winter, you may want to consider switching your blades for snow blades .

• Tires - This is a big one. There are many inspections to be made on your tires before winter sets in. The first is to make sure they are properly inflated. Under- or over-inflated tires can reduce the gripping action as the tread won't meet the road surface as it was designed to. If you are in a place where there is a lot of snow or ice, try using tires made just for this kind of weather. Snow and ice tires have a special tread compound and a unique tread design to increase road-gripping abilities.

• Your Shoes - Yes, your shoes. Snow and mud can compound on the bottom of your shoes, which can cause slippery braking. This and when the snow melts off of your shoes and gathers on the floor, can make your floorboard slippery and difficult for you to use your gas, clutch or brake accurately.

• Watch The Braking - If you have driven in ice and snow, this one is problem second nature to you, but so many people forget to retrain themselves and their driving habits during the winter. Avoid harsh use of your brakes while driving. If you need to make an emergency stop in a car equipped with an Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), firmly press the pedal down and hold it to the floor.

• Coolant - Flush and refill your cooling system as recommended. Check the level, condition and concentration of the coolant periodically.

• Heater and Defroster - Make sure your cars heater and defroster are in good working condition before you have to depend on them. A failed heating system will leave passengers cold, while a broken defroster can dangerously reduce visibility.

• Battery - Nothing worse than getting caught in the cold with a dead battery and we all know how the weather can drain a battery. Before it gets too cold out, hire a technician to check your battery. Only professional equipment can detect weak batteries.

• Stay Prepared - Last, keep a blanket, shovel, flares and some high-energy snacks in the vehicle just in case you get hung up in the snow or cold weather. While it may be warm in your car and warm at the destination you will arrive at, anything can happen, leaving you without heat during your travels. When this happens you want to make sure you have something warm as a backup to wear until help comes.

Take precautions in checking over this list and hopefully your winter driving travels will be safe and warm.

The Toyota Prius is such an iconic car that many people believe Toyota was the first company to come out with production hybrids. It was not. Honda was the first, but miscalculated the market and missed out on a huge opportunity. The announcement that the company will be introducing a hybrid sports car, the CR-Z, to the US market in the fall of 2010 is an effort to right that wrong.

The CR-Z is nothing less than a full frontal assault on the hybrid market in the United States. The car is a two-seater that is rumored to incorporate an integrated motor assist system that incorporates a 1.3 liter engine. The CR-Z, which stands for Compact Renaissance Zero, gets its sportiness from both the design and the fact that it is expected to be very light weight.

The initial prototype of the vehicle was shown at the 41st Tokyo Motor Show. It incorporates a longer nose with sleek, banked styling that runs to a higher end, flat rear. If I had to compare it to any other car, it looks like a revved up Honda Insight although with very distinct lines. You can look up images online from the show to see it.

The real beauty of the CR-Z is found in an area that is rarely available in a new, revolutionary sporty car. Yes, I am talking about the price. All indications are Honda is trying to bring this car in to wipe up the market. The proposed retail price is a paltry $20,000. This is the equivalent of a Prius, but with much better lines and performance. Well, at least we think better performance. Honda has released no information on just how sporty the performance will be. Still, one has to imagine it will be better than your average hybrid.

The age of hybrids is in full bloom. The Honda CR-Z seems to fill a niche that has demand these days. With a price in the $20,000 range, it may be a huge hit.

This year 2009 the Dodge Challenger won the J.D. Power and Associates APEAL Study which examines how gratifying a new vehicle is to own and drive, based on owner evaluations. They do the study on more than 80,000 owned and leased vehicles for the 2009 model year. The survey is done after 90 days of ownership. The Dodge Challenger also received the AutoPacific Best in Class Ideal Vehicle Award that uses 15 attributes that owners are asked to rate the vehicles that are new for that model year. The Dodge Challenger took the prize in the Best Sporty Car Category. That is great that one of the Dodge family has still got it after all these years. After the first 90 days of owning a vehicle people start to point out the things that they want to be better. One area that can be improved on any vehicle especially the Dodge Challenger is the Exhaust System.

After market exhaust system are built for power. There are a couple other benefits that actually come with extra power as well. Not only is a performance exhaust system going to give a nice increase in power that you can feel in the seat of your pants. It will also increase engine efficiency. With the pipes that lead the way out of the exhaust being larger in diameter, and having mandrel bends that make a much easier exit path for the exhaust gasses, the engine doesn’t have to work so hard to get the exhaust gasses out. Because of that, you end up with increased engine longevity. The gasses are cooler because they aren’t getting backed up, and the engine runs a little cooler. On top of all that

Upgrading out of the stock exhaust system will change the sound of the Challenger. Don’t get me wrong, the stock sound is a good sound but it isn’t great. Some things in life are good and there isn’t anything wrong with good. We are judged by averages in everything we do and say, performance in the work place is judged on averages, but what happens to those that are above average, they excel. Why not shoot for being above average, too many people are content with being just as good as the other guy. A performance exhaust with a deeper, more muscular sound, and better looks would definitely separate one Challenger from the other. Not to mention more power.

To some, sound is everything for others it is the power improvements. Most any Aftermarket Exhaust System will improve the performance of the Dodge Challenger. With gains in all the major areas of performance, horse power, torque and like I mentioned earlier gas mileage. The best exhaust upgrades for the Dodge Challenger are made by MBRP though. We’ve seen the biggest power gains from their kits and they come with a lifetime warranty.

For example an MBRP exhaust for the Dodge Challenger will increase the horse power by 24 horses at the rear wheels and 24 extra ft/lbs of torque on the 5.7L V8, and the gains on the 6.1L SRT8 are 29 hp and 25 tq, and on the V6 Challengers 14 horsepower and 9 torque for the upgraded single exhaust, and an incredible 20 hp and 12 tq when you upgrade the V6 challenger to a dual exhaust. All while gaining 1-3 miles per gallon while driving conservatively. The MBRP exhaust system for the Dodge Challenger is a 3” Exhaust for all the V8 engines and 2.5” on the V6 engines and are available in either T-304 or T-409 stainless steel. The T-304 is the higher quality system and the T-409 is a little more cost effective, and still a quality system. Neither of the systems are going to rust.

If you are looking for an easy way to boost performance and the curb appeal then an aftermarket Performance exhaust is the answer.

Throughout the history of the automobile, Volvo cars have always been known as durable. This is one of Volvos claims to fame. It is also why these vehicles have been so popular and why they are still around years after other brands of cars.

When it comes to durability, no other vehicle is as synonymous as the Volvo cars. They were made to be nearly indestructible and they lived up to that. Many old cars are still running today. Even the cars that are not on the road any longer will not have an owner that will say anything but good things about the car that served them so well for so many years.

When people own a Volvo, they know that they are buying a car that will not have to be replaced anytime soon. Instead of getting rid of the car, it will often just get handed down to one of the children. Then they go out and purchase a new Volvo to take the old one’s place. This is because these people are totally dedicated to this car.

Once you drive Volvo cars, no other car is going to be the same. Not only are they durable, but they are also very drivable. One of the problems with most cars that are built to last is that they can be hard to handle.

The same cannot be said about Volvo. They are very user friendly and they do not have issues with stability on the road. The car also handles like a dream which is another reason that people love them so much.

Those who are looking to purchase a new car would do well with any model made by Volvo. They are still built as tough as they were when the first one was made so many decades ago. You are going to get a great car that is going to last you and your family for many, many years.
